Additionally, prescription-strength topical treatments containing ingredients like hydroquinone, kojic acid, and vitamin C are used to lighten pigmented areas. These treatments work by reducing melanin production, helping to gradually lighten dark spots over time.

Preventive care is also essential to stop pigmentation from recurring. Patients are advised to use broad-spectrum sunscreen daily, avoid direct sun exposure, and follow a skincare routine that supports skin health.
